The Perfect Weekend Getaway in Wisconsin

Welcome to Sunrise Resort & Campground at the shore of beautiful Prairie Lake in Chetek, Wisconsin. If you're looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life, visit our Northwoods resort and enjoy a quiet, peaceful, and relaxing experience you're sure to love. At Sunrise Resort & Campground, we have fully equipped cabins that are a few steps away from the scenic Prairie Lake with access to the Chetek Chain of Lakes and 3,800 square acres of water and 125 miles of shoreline.

Why Should You Stay With Us?

The Chetek Chain of Lakes provides excellent fishing for panfish, bass, walleye, and northern pike. Our fish house has both electricity and running water making it easy to clean your catch at the end of the day and there is freezer space in each cabin. If you want to make your fresh catch for dinner, this is a breeze in one of our fully equipped cabins. The boat landing is easily accessible from our resort.  If you prefer relaxing the day away on the pontoon, our 3,800 square acres of water give you ample opportunities to soak up the sun and visit the multiple bars and restaurants around the lake for a cold beverage and a delicious meal. We have several pontoons for rent from our resort. If you enjoy a slower pace, rent one of our kayaks or our canoe. For the more active ones, there is swimming, waterskiing, and tubing. Off the lake, Chetek has multiple bars and restaurants, gift and antique shops, bowling alley, and several nearby golf courses. Community events throughout the year include Liberty Fest in July with the amazing 4th of July fireworks, Pontoon Olympix, Chetek Lake Fest, Winterfest, and multiple fishing and ice fishing contests throughout the year.

ATV trails are close by and accessible from our resort. If you wish, you can access the Wild Rivers Trail that goes all the way to Superior, Wisconsin, the Tuscobia Trail that goes to Park Falls, Wisconsin, explore the local trails in Barron County, or the beautiful Blue Hills next door in Rusk County.

For the winter, ice fishing is an option a few steps outside your cabin door, or bring your ATV and explore the ice. Snowmobile trails are accessible right from the resort by hopping onto the lake. Cross country skiing and snowshoeing can be done right on the lake, or if you prefer groomed trails, those are nearby in Barron, Bloomer, or the Blue Hills.
